Here's The Deal

So, look. A lot has been going on. I don't have the time to blog. And when I do have the time, I just don't have the motivation. I've just been really stressed and everything. But, hopefully that'll be reduced since exams are over March Madness is almost over. Although, March Madness has been really exciting and fun and I'm glad I really got into it. But, I digress. I probs won't be blogging much for a while. Just had to letcha know.

It's Been Far Too Long

I have had very little motivation to blog lately. But I have decided that now, while sitting in PSY101, is the best time to finally do it. So I'll just dive right in.

Last week was one of the best weeks of my life! It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL all week. It was sunny and warm. Warm enough to go out in a t-shirt and be comfortable. And the weather just made everyone super happy! It was amazing and I loved it.

Wednesday was St. Patrick's Day. I had class at 8, work at 10:30, and class again at 4:10. but, I was free after 5:30. I then did something celebratory before meeting the tenor and mello freshmen for dinner at the Union. After dinner I went back to my room to take a nap before walking over to the Tenor Haus with Jonathan. The Tenor Haus was so much fun! I met some fun new people too. And, as uzsh, Jonathan and I were the last people to leave. Even though we only left at like 12:30 or 1. It was a really fun night.

This weekend was amazing! I went to Dearborn for District Convention for KKPSi. I learned a lot from all the workshops I went to. It was a great experience. But, Kate, Rudi, and I missed the ritual because we were watching the basketball game. lol. So, we decided to go in the hot tub and pool while everyone was at ritual. It was fun. The best thing that happened all weekend, however, was winning the Gov Cup. The Zeta Epsilon chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi won the the Governor's Cup, the award for most outstanding chapter in the district! We were all so excited! Some people were even brought to tears by it! It was an amazing feeling to get recognized for all the hard work our chapter puts in and we were all very gracious and excited about it. It was just amazing.

Though Convention was amazing, it sucked the life out of me. And my roommates. Kate, Rudi, and I left the hotel sick that day. I don't know if it was from the pool or from the sick people that surrounded Kate during NCDIB, but it was terrible. Kate even missed the opening session because she was feeling so bad. I skipped my classes and work yesterday due to illness. I'm getting better now, hopefully Kate and Rudi are too.

Today is going really well, thus far. I learned that everything the media has ever told us about gender roles in relationships is completely false in COM225. And I think I'm gonna dip out of PSY101 earl because I'm not paying attention at all and I've learned it all twice before. And I absolutely cannot wait until band tonight. I'm really excited to play this challenging music. But, I think I'm gonna go now.

I'm Baaaaack!

Today, Sunday, is the last day of Spring Break and the day that I finally get to go back to MSU and see all my friends!! I'm so happy to finally be back! I love my family and friends back home and everything, but MSU is really the place where I'm happiest.

Today was the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Corktown in Downtown Detroit. It's my favorite parade of all that my high school does. It was weird being on the outside looking in this time, though. I got to see all the other bands that we never get to see because we're marching. Some of them were really good, but most of them were pretty terrible. It's hard to go back to high school marching bands after being in the Spartan Marching Band. I just have a higher standard of everything now. Haha. It was also Kaitie's last St. Patty's Day Parade. But, she's not at all torn up about it. Apparently, she can't wait to get out of there. lol. The parade was freezing, so we left right after they got done.

After we got home from the parade, I started packing my stuff to go back to school. I only had like another hour and a half before Danielle and her mom were there to take us back. I had to do some payroll stuff and doctor stuff too, so that took up a lot of my time. I was rushed to pack, but I thought I had everything. Boy, was I wrong. I had everything except my keys...which were in my mother's purse. I discovered this in Brighton though, so my mom will be mailing them tomorrow.

We got back around 7:45pm. So, I quickly unpacked all my stuff and then met Jonathan in the caf for dinner before walking over to Kappa. We had officer elections in Kappa today! It was all very exciting to pick our leadership for next year. Here's who got what: Pres=Amy, VP=Terry, Rec Sec=Nicole, Cor Sec=Becky, Treasurer=Tony, Parliamentarian=Ben, and Historian=Bryan. How exciting that there are FOUR Tenors in office next year!! I think everyone is going to do amazing in their respective offices. I already can't wait for next year!

After Kappa I had to go to the library to write a paper for WRA. I was there until around 2:00am. I got it done. I think it's actually pretty good for starting it yesterday at 4:30am. Haha. I don't know why I didn't do any work during break. Lack of motivation I guess. Whatev, it's done now and that's really all that matters, now I just have to get up and turn it in by 8am. Ugh.

Tomorrow should be fun. I get to see people that I haven't seen for a week! I have class from 8-9:50am. Then I'm probably gonna meet Justin for lunch in the Union (or the Landon caf since I'm trying to cut back on the grease haha). I really have a lot of math work to catch up on so I'm probably gonna work on that until 4:10pm rolls around. At that point I will go to math class, in which I will give Vicky my money for my t-shirt to give to Krak. When Math is over I have to head straight over to Noodles for the KKPsi fundraiser with Justin. Then I believe I'm eating dinner with Kate and Kristin at 8pm, that will be fun (except for the hearing all about Spring Break part, that's gonna suck). Then I have to work from 8:30pm to close in Wilson. Busy day.

Well, since I have to shower tomorrow before I go to class, I'm gonna go to bed. I mean, it's already 3:24am and I have to get up at 6:30am in order to cleanse myself. So, good night!

Spring Break Sucks

You'd think that I'd be blogging every day since I have no plans for Spring Break. Guess not. I have decided that I hate Spring Break. It's only Wednesday and I have already exhausted my "Spring Break Fund" and done every activity there is to do in the Wayne/Westland area. Home is so incredibly boring. But I'll tell you what I've done anyway.

FRIDAY: I didn't really do anything on Friday. We got home around 9:00pm. I took Kaitie to Kroger to get some clothing dye and that's about it.

SATURDAY: I stayed in my pajamas until about 9:30pm. Then I showered and crashed a Sweet 16 party. Then I stole some of the guests and went to Red Apple. We were almost kicked out of Red Apple for being too loud. Whatev, they'd never kick us out. Without us, they have no business. We didn't get home until about 1:30am.

SUNDAY: I went to see "Alice in Wonderland" with Meghan and we met up with Josh and Jamie. I didn't really like it. It was okay, but I wouldn't pay any more money to see it. After that, Meghan and I drove around for a little and then we picked up Deanna, Danielle, and Amber. We attempted to go see another movie, but nothing good was playing. We ended up at (you guessed it) Red Apple. We stayed there for about an hour and a half and then went home because the "little ones" had school. I think I got home around 9 or 10pm.

MONDAY: I slept in really late. Probably around 4:00pm is when I got out of bed. Then Kaitie and I went to the mall to look for some jeans for me. We were unsuccessful. We were gonna go to CiCi's but decided against it because no one else could go. We got home around 7:30pm.

TUESDAY: I slept in until 3:00pm. Then just chilled for awhile. Doug, Kaitie, and I were gonna go to CiCi's but it was closed when we got there. So we picked up Mark, stopped at the Westland Library to get "West Side Story", and then went to Blue Roof. Right when we were leaving Blue Roof, Danielle texted Kaitie asking to hang out. So, we picked her up and then went to Walmart. There we played a 2 hour game of Hide'n'Seek. It was so fun! Then we had to drive Doug home to Southfield. We were gonna watch a movie there but my mom freaked out about Kaitie being out late on a school night. So, we left and were home by around 2:00am.

WEDNESDAY (aka Today): I woke up at 1:00pm today, the earliest I've gotten up all break. I watched "West Side Story" and then decided to go to the Wayne Library to get "CATS". I had to pick Kaitie up from full orchestra rehearsal at 3:30pm, so I just went there after the library. When I got back, I put in "CATS". But then I had to take my dad to drop off his truck at my mom's work so they could go to the World War II museum. After that, Kaitie and I went to look for prom dresses for her. We got back around 7:30pm. We finished watching "CATS" and then put in "Daybreakers". I did not watch all of that because I don't do scary movies. Then we watched a episode of "16 and Pregnant". Kaitie went to bed after that, so I watched "Parenthood". Now here I am. Blogging at 1:28am. I'm so lame.

Tomorrow is looking good though. Okay, so I have to do a bunch of school work during the day, but after that's done and Mark get's off work, we are totally going to BDubs and then the Looney Baker. I'm excited, it's going to be the highlight of my week. Haha. But, actually before Mark and after school stuff, I'm going up to my high school to visit with some teachers and sit in on marching band rehearsal. It sounds lame, but I can't wait to roll up in my Michigan State Band jacket and show everyone that I'm part of the best band in the land. I hope some of the marching band kids are going to State next year. It'd be cool to not be the only one from Wayne Memorial in the Spartan Marching Band.

I hate going on Facebook and Twitter and seeing everyone's posts about how much fun they're having in some fun place. "I'm in warm weather!" and "(fill in the blank) is so much fun!" are filling up my news feed and tweet deck. I'm so jealous! But, at the same time, I get to relax at home and not have to worry (that much) about expenses. Plus, I get to see my old friends from high school! So that's good.

I keep getting sidetracked and distracted, so I'm gonna end this entry now.

Ellie

Spring Break!

Well, I'm in college now and Spring Break is kind of a big deal here. You're supposed to go on road trips and go out of state and just go. I was totally going to do that!

Kate invited me to her home in Connecticut for Spring Break along with Keine. At first, I wasn't sure about it because of the money thing, but she said it would be basically free since we'd be staying at her house an not in a hotel. Then I was all for it! I thought it'd be really fun to go on a road trip/Spring Break excursion with Kate and Keine! But, many things happened...too many things. First, there was what I now refer to as "The Incident" (no, I will not elaborate). Second, there was the fact that I apparently didn't tell them I could go in time, as they had already bought TWO tickets for a play and not THREE. Finally, I had to have surgery a week before leaving. So yeah, it was basically a hook-line-sinker type of deal. I'm really sad and disappointed I can't go. :(

Now I get to go home to Westland for Spring Break. Yay. I was trying to throw together a trip to Chicago really quick, but that fizzled out fast. So, it looks like it's just gonna be a bunch of sleeping in, sitting around, catching up on readings, and going to Red Apple/Blue Roof. Actually, I think I kinda wanna just stay in East Lansing for the week. I mean, it'd be hella-boring but I'd still be at the place where I'm happiest. But, I can't do that because I have to give Danielle a ride home and I already told my dad and he'd freak out on me if I changed plans. Wasteland, here I come! haha

But, I do have things to look forward to at the end/after break. The very last day of break is the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Detroit. My high school marching band marches in that parade and it's my favorite parade that we do. Now I get to see what it looks like from the outside! So excited! Then later that day I'm going back to school (which is really a good thing in itself). I have a Kappa meeting that night too. Then at the end of the week is District Convention! I'm excited for that. AND I'm rooming with Kate (so, I'll still get to have a mini-road trip/excursion with her)! Rudi and Vicky are with us too! It's gonna be so much fun. Oh! The rest of my Triplet set will be there too (Jonathan and Chrissy). So, that just DOUBLES the amount of fun that will be had.

Okay, I'm getting sidetracked now. I have to stop. Happy Spring Break!!

Ellie

No Time For Liiiifffee!!

I have had very little time for anything recently. Either that or very little motivation. Same same, right?

So, Ryan stayed with me for a couple days. He came up with me and my dad on Monday night and his mom picked him up tonight (Wednesday) around 9:00pm-ish. Monday night was fun. We got there and then talked for a little bit. Tuesday I had class, but after we went to Meijer to buy him some socks (he forgot them) and stock up on goodies. I nearly busted my stitches open from laughing so hard! Then I had band after which Justin came over to watch "Parenthood" with us. We stayed up talking for awhile and then just fell asleep. Today I had class at 8:00am and then I had to work from 10:30-3:30pm. But I skipped Math so we could hang out. Ryan, Zack, and I hung out in my room for an hour or so and then we went on a mini-tour of campus. We ended the tour at the Union where we met up with the rest of the Tenors and Mellos. We stayed for a couple hours but then had to go because of Zack's fencing and Ryan's mother's arrival.

As much as I thought I would LOVE Ryan staying here, it was a kind of stressful situation. I had to reschedule everything I had planned already and then I was worrying if he was lonely or bored while I was away. I also felt really guilty that I had to go to class and work while he just sat in my room. And don't even get me started on the introduction of my "State friends" to my "home friend". That was so awkward and stressful. I thought I would love him to meet my new friends, but I now find myself wanting to keep these lives separate. This deeply saddens me because they are two HUGE parts of my life and happiness. But, what can I do? I'll just have to be "separately happy", I guess.

Oh. My. Gosh. I am so excited about band now! We are playing challenging music and I LOVE IT! I can't wait for this concert. I can't wait for our next rehearsal, actually. I love that band is the highlight of my day/week again. It doesn't hurt that I get to see people I wouldn't ordinarily see either. Actually, I think it's a combination of both the music and the people. [OH! HOLD ON! MY FAVORITE PART OF "ELLEN DEGENERES: HERE AND NOW" IS ON! Hahahahaha, okay it's over.] But, yeah, I love band again. :)

I worked the Green Cuisine in Holden today. I never want to do anything other than that again! I love it out there! I get to be with the people, but not every single one of them. And Diane is super nice. Plus, I'm actually really good at making the wraps. I'd rather make salads and wraps for 5 hours than serve for 5 hours.

Ooh, girl! This sunshine is really doing me good! I've been really happy and in a great mood since the sun has been out. Thank you, Motha Natcha!

I think that's all I really have to say right now. Catch y'all on the flip side!

Ellie

Still Here

It's 6:04am on Saturday morning and I'm still in the hospital. I have no idea why I am awake. I've been trying to sleep since 11:00pm, but can only ever stay asleep for a few hours at a time. It's probably the fact that a nurse comes in and wakes me up every few hours...

Anyway.

Today was the day. The doctors woke me up at around 9:50am to tell me that there was an opening and that I would be going into surgery in about 20 minutes. That was a surprise because they said it almost definitely would not be happening before 2:00pm. But, I texted Justin, Kate, and Danielle right away to let them know (because they told me to). They were as surprised as I was by how quickly I got in and they all wished me luck. The surgical team was really nice. They were all very friendly and joked with me, which I loved. That anesthesia put me out quick. I remember being rolled into the O.R. and them giving me oxygen to breath in while they injected the anesthetic into my IV. The next thing I knew, I was in the recovery room being woken up. I was a little out of it for about 10 minutes, but then I was just hella-tired. My belly hurt where they made the four incisions but they gave me some pain meds and it cooled down a lot. They kept me in the recovery room for about an hour before wheeling me into a brand new room...this time on the Women's floor, so I got to be with grown-ups. When I got there, I just slept for a few hours. My mom called Justin and Danielle to update them while I slept, which I was unaware of because I texted them and Kate when I woke up.

I just laid in bed and watched TV for a couple hours, then I got all kinds of visitors. Justin said that he, Brad, and Hannah would be coming in about a half an hour. Well, when that half an hour rolled around this is who was here: Justin, Hannah, Brad, Keine, and Hannah's friend Ryan. They stayed with me and talked and made gall bladder jokes while my parents left to go get food. They were there for 2-3 hours. Then my parents decided that they were gonna go home to make sure Kaitie hadn't killed Nick. My friends stayed for another 20 minutes or so and they left to go to Amy's to celebrate her audition being over. Kate texted me asking if I knew when I was going home right when the doctors were telling me that they were gonna keep me overnight again. She is such a good friend, she asked if I needed company and told me to tell her if I needed anything (as usual). I didn't want to make her leave whatever she was doing, so I just decided to go to sleep. Speaking of which, I can't believe I fell asleep during Speed Skating. I was kinda mad, but it's whatev.

My arms are now symmetrical. I have bandages where my IV was in both hands and now I have bandages from where they drew blood in both elbow-pits. TWINS!! lol. Hopefully they're done taking blood from me now. I mean, I think it's really cool to watch, but being woken up do get it done is getting a little old.

I'm getting sleepy again, so I think I'm gonna go back to bed while I wait to finally be discharged. And I'd just like to reiterate how amazing my friends are and how much I love them. I know they'll always be there for me.

Hugs and Kisses,
Ellie
